I have noticed you really enjoy reading fairytale retellings so I was wondering if you have ever read daughter of the forest by Juliet marillier? It's really good; it's not ya but she does have two ya series that I have heard were good. Also beauty by Robin McKinley and the goose girl by Shannon hale were amazing! And I am planning on reading cinder by Marissa Meyer this year which is supposed to be the best ya fairytale retelling series of all time. I am excited to see what I think and I would love for you to review it so I can hear your thoughts on it. Also I was wondering if you are open to reviewing adult fantasy along with ya fantasy? I love both but I know straight up fantasy doesn't appeal to everyone.I think you might really enjoy Brandon sanderson if adult fantasy is a genre you want to try though. Anyways these are just a few authors/books that I would love to hear your opinions on:) But if you don't want to review them I completely understand just thought I would throw a few of my favorite books out there in case they interested you. By the way great blog! Love that you talk about book to movie adaptations too:)
ReplyDeleteI think I may have some books by a few of those authors in my 'to read' list on Goodreads. Lol. I did try to read Cinder, I quit after 1 paragraph because the grammar was so bad. Depends on the book. There are some great adult fantasy out there, but you have to sift through a lot of trash sometimes to find them. Will see what I can do. Thank you! Means a lot to me that someone is actually reading and enjoying my blog. :)
DeleteI may not like Cinder then and I know what you mean about sifting through fantasy there seems to be a lot of poorly written novels in the genre but there are some amazing ones too :)
DeleteThe concept behind Cinder is quite interesting. However, I couldn't get past the first sentence being a run-un. Also found the writing style to be lacking. Perhaps it gets better, but to me when a book starts off with incorrect grammar it is never a good sign.
